Georgians are proud that our country's economic and democratic progress is the most important source of regional stability

Georgians are proud that our country's economic and democratic progress is the most important source of regional stability, - Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said in his speech at the CAMCA regional forum.

"We already enjoy free trade markets, which cover 900 million people, in the EU, the CIS countries, Turkey, the US, Canada, Japan and EFTA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland). The Georgia-EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), which came into effect in 2014, allows Georgia to diversify its economy,"- said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister also noted that DCFTA will provide significant benefits to the partners as well.

"In terms of trade facilitation, China is one of our top priorities. Negotiations have already begun. According to the analysis of the economic feasibility, the free trade agreement will increase exports of Georgian products to China by about 10% each year”, says the PM.

According to the head of the government, except for the free trade agreement, we have a holistic approach with regard to border management modernization as well.

"In terms of trade facilitation and customs control we achieved a perfect balance that is reflected in sharply increased opportunities. We are also working on harmonization of tariffs and customs procedures. Already today, the transit of goods from Asia to Europe through Georgia is simple and inexpensive. Georgians are proud that our country's economic and democratic progress is the most important source of regional stability", - said Kvirikashvili.
